1. About Us and Our Service

djurvakter.se is a simple online platform that helps pet owners in Sweden find pet sitters.

• Pet owners can search for sitters, view profiles, read reviews, and contact sitters directly.
• Pet sitters can create a free profile, describe the services they offer (such as dog walking, home visits, or overnight sitting), and buy optional visibility packs to make their profile rank higher in search results.

We do not provide pet-sitting services ourselves. We do not act as an agent, broker, or intermediary for bookings between pet owners and sitters. All arrangements, contracts, payments, and care happen directly between the pet owner and the pet sitter.

The only payments processed on our platform are for the optional visibility packs that pet sitters may choose to purchase from us.

We operate as a sole trader (enskild näringsverksamhet) registered for tax purposes with Skatteverket. Our registered address is: 595 33 Mjölby, Sweden.

2. Who Can Use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old to use djurvakter.se.

Pet owners can browse and search without creating an account. Pet sitters must create a free account to publish a profile.

By using the site or creating an account, you confirm that you have the legal right and capacity to agree to these Terms.

3. User Accounts (for Pet Sitters)

When you create an account as a pet sitter:

• You must provide accurate, truthful, and complete information.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
• You may not create false or misleading profiles.

We may suspend or terminate accounts at any time if we believe there is a violation of these Terms, suspicious activity, or misuse of the platform.

We encourage everyone to report any suspicious activity or misconduct through the website’s reporting tools.

4. How the Platform Works

djurvakter.se is a matching platform only. We provide a space for pet sitters to advertise their services and for pet owners to find them.

• There is no matching algorithm.
• We do not screen, verify, or background-check sitters (unless they voluntarily provide such information).
• We do not handle bookings, payments, or contracts between pet owners and sitters.
• All communication and agreements happen directly between you and the other party.

Pet sitters may purchase visibility packs to improve the ranking of their profile in search results. These are optional paid features.

5. Reviews and Content

Pet owners and sitters may leave reviews about each other. Reviews must be honest, respectful, and based on real experiences.

We moderate reviews and may remove content that is false, abusive, discriminatory, or violates these Terms.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display, publish, and moderate the content (profiles, photos, reviews, messages) you upload.

Prohibited content and behavior includes (but is not limited to):

• Creating false or fake profiles
• Posting misleading or fraudulent information
• Harassing, threatening, or discriminatory content
• Spam, advertising off-platform services in a way that violates our rules
• Any illegal activity under Swedish law

6. Payments and Visibility Packs

Payments on djurvakter.se are only for optional visibility packs bought by pet sitters. These payments are processed securely.

All purchases of visibility packs are final unless otherwise stated in our specific purchase terms at the time of checkout. We reserve the right to change prices and features of visibility packs.

7. Important Liability Information (Please Read Carefully)

djurvakter.se is only a connector platform. We do not provide, supervise, or control any pet-sitting services.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• All pet-sitting services are provided solely by independent pet sitters.
• Any agreement for pet care is a direct contract between the pet owner and the pet sitter.
• We are not a party to that contract and have no control over the quality, safety, or performance of the services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, djurvakter.se, its owner, and any representatives are not liable for:

• Any injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to pets, people, or property arising from pet-sitting services.
• Any disputes, cancellations, no-shows, or misunderstandings between pet owners and pet sitters.
• Any conduct (online or offline) of users of the platform.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.

We strongly recommend that pet owners and pet sitters communicate clearly, meet in person if possible, exchange written agreements, and handle insurance and liability between themselves.

Our total liability to you, if any, will in no event exceed the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months (or SEK 500 if no payment was made).

8. Disclaimers

The website and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free, or that every profile is accurate or trustworthy.

We do not endorse any particular pet sitter. It is your responsibility to evaluate and choose who to work with.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason (including violation of these Terms).

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Sweden, with Mjölby as the first venue where applicable.

As a consumer in Sweden/EU, you may also have rights under mandatory consumer protection laws (including the right to complain to the Swedish Consumer Agency or use alternative dispute resolution).
